Central Eastern Europe

14 - 18 September 2026
BUCHAREST | WARSAW | PRAGUE

Real opportunity | Authentic connection | New frontiers for African travel

Central Eastern Europe is a region on the rise – energetic, evolving and hungry for discovery. Buyers here are open-minded, curious, and highly engaged. They’re not just seeking destinations; they’re seeking exotic travel. From the aspirational Romanian traveller to the discerning Polish explorer and the adventure-loving Czech market, there’s growing demand for authentic, high-quality African experiences. These buyers value face-to-face interaction, trusted partnerships and curated content tailored to their market.

AFRICA SHOWCASE offers an opportunity to build genuine relationships with key players across Bucharest, Warsaw and Prague. Our intimate, focused format puts you in front of product managers, travel designers and operators who are serious about adding or expanding Africa in their portfolios. This new September timing allows us to deepen our market presence just ahead of Africa Showcase Mitteleuropa, giving focused attention to these three hubs at the right moment in their travel calendar.

Why CEE?
- Romania is one of Europe’s fastest-growing outbound markets. Buyers here are passionate and curious, with clients eager for safari, culture and luxury.
- Poland is a strategic market with strong long-haul growth. Polish travellers seek premium and eco-conscious experiences. Improved air access is making Africa more attractive than ever.
- Czech Republic offers a diverse traveller base – from adventure-seeking youth to older travellers looking for comfort and cultural depth. Most long-haul bookings are made through trusted agencies, making direct trade relationships vital.

2025

Our latest AFRICA SHOWCASE roadshow in CEE reinforced the strong and growing interest in African travel across this dynamic region. From Prague to Bucharest to Warsaw, we met with engaged buyers eager to expand their offerings for Africa.

Each city presented unique opportunities. The Czech market continues to evolve, with travellers seeking tailored experiences that balance affordability with adventure and luxury. Romania’s rapid economic growth and passion for travel are fueling a strong demand for long-haul destinations, particularly in the luxury segment. Meanwhile, Poland’s expanding economy, combined with improved air access, is making Africa more accessible to both value-conscious and high-end travellers.

2024

The Roadshow highlighted the growing interest in Africa among visitors from the CEE region, which is experiencing rapid expansion. This trend not only showcases Africa's rich cultural diversity and breathtaking landscapes but also underscores our ongoing dedication to improving infrastructure and services to better serve travellers' needs.

Unlocking the untapped potential of the CEE market requires a nuanced understanding of its dynamics and preferences. By embracing demographic shifts, diversifying offerings, and leveraging key insights, African tourism companies can forge lasting partnerships and pave the way for mutual growth in this dynamic outbound travel market.

2023

Our events delivered over 100 attendees, attracting a range of Africa specialists, luxury boutique operators, MICE agents and some larger group operators, who enjoyed the African ambience and hospitality.

There are fewer Africa specialists in this region than other European markets as there has not been much destination building by African tourism boards. Exhibitors noticed the more mature market in Prague, as there are more Africa specialists in Czech and it is the richest of the three markets we visited.

In terms of market dynamics, we see a younger traveller coming from CEE, compared to other European source markets, as these are the people with money. Most travellers to Africa will be between 30 and 50, with a tendency for active holidays.
