Central Eastern Europe

24 - 28 February 2025

Spanning the vibrant markets of Central Eastern Europe, our roadshow showcases the diverse tapestry of African destinations, captivating the imagination of attendees from across CEE.

The diverse range of African destinations offers huge appeal for the buyers, delivering over 100 attendees in one week across the three events. The growing interest in Africa among visitors from CEE underscores the region’s rapid expansion and its appetite for unique travel offerings.

Our events attract a combination of attendees: leisure companies who focus on exotic destinations, MICE agents, and employees of the larger tour operators who do charter business to Africa.

With the support of our partner Travel Advance, known for their expertise in destination marketing, Africa Showcase succeeds in connecting African travel suppliers with the right buyers, facilitating meaningful interactions and creating lasting partnerships.

Join us the week before ITB as we visit PRAGUE, WARSAW and BUCHAREST.

'Travel from CEE is an unstoppable train, it keeps going up in the rankings.

Africa is going to receive some serious business now.'

2024

The Roadshow highlighted the growing interest in Africa among visitors from the CEE region, which is experiencing rapid expansion. This trend not only showcases Africa's rich cultural diversity and breathtaking landscapes but also underscores our ongoing dedication to improving infrastructure and services to better serve travellers' needs.

Unlocking the untapped potential of the CEE market requires a nuanced understanding of its dynamics and preferences. By embracing demographic shifts, diversifying offerings, and leveraging key insights, African tourism companies can forge lasting partnerships and pave the way for mutual growth in this dynamic outbound travel market.

2023

Our events delivered over 100 attendees, attracting a range of Africa specialists, luxury boutique operators, MICE agents and some larger group operators, who enjoyed the African ambience and hospitality.

There are fewer Africa specialists in this region than other European markets as there has not been much destination building by African tourism boards. Exhibitors noticed the more mature market in Prague, as there are more Africa specialists in Czech and it is the richest of the three markets we visited.

In terms of market dynamics, we see a younger traveller coming from CEE, compared to other European source markets, as these are the people with money. Most travellers to Africa will be between 30 and 50, with a tendency for active holidays.

2021

Our European Tour for #AfricaShowcaseOnline in 2021 brought together 160 European buyers and 40 top quality African exhibitors for a focused week of meetings and discussions about the re-opening of our tourism sector.

Presenting from our studio in Johannesburg, with exhibitors representing tourism offers from 30 African countries, our virtual platform connected with buyers from across Europe to keep alive the dream of travel to Africa.

Buyer Feedback for #AfricaShowcaseOnline

‘I cannot express my delight with enough words as Africa still stays with me as undiscovered territory, which attracts me but still little bit hesitant to go there. But if any person of TIME TRAVEL ever did any Africa for F.I.Ts or group – it was only me. There is always so much to learn.

Thank you for the event, it was very useful, I got so many nice ideas and information. We shall start to prepare our products for the rest of the year as we were very active during the whole Covid time and intend to continue even better.

Hope I will use those vouchers and will try to combine it with other destinations in South Africa or Namibia, it is something I need to think about. However there is still plenty of time to make a travel plan!

‘First of all, thank you for inviting me to this useful program, it was nice to e-meet you too. I’ve been to a lot of webinars in the last year, but honestly, it was the best organized program.

Everything worked well, I met a lot of interesting people and got a lot of new information. There are few of us in the office right now, but I hope to have time soon to create a new Africa page on Tensi web site to show African countries and offer groups and FIT packages. Hopefully we can send more and more clients to these countries soon.’

‘We found it pretty interesting and I must say sometimes educational! We found out something new about some properties in Namibia, South Africa, Kenya and Tanzania, we even took some notes.

From my perspective partners like Namibia Tourism Board, Serena, Gondwana etc. are super important. Partners like Mala Mala, Dream Resorts – great to know, great to talk, great to remember. Not really working for more than a year now makes you forget stuff…Naturally I hope next year we will be able to meet in person :)'
